About me

After I suffered several heart attacks my lovely wife and I made the decision to move to Haworth  from Kent in 2019. We had lived in Kent since 2005. I lead a hectic, stressful life and my job was physically demanding. Due to poor health I was unable to work so we made a life changing decision to have a complete change of scenery and life style.

I have my good and bad days, on the bad ones I struggle to get out of bed so I listen to my body and take it easy. On the good days I do my best to make the best of my day and explore the unbelievably beautiful and interesting countryside in this part of the UK.

With the help of my car I am able to access most of the surrounding area, together with my dog and sometimes with family and friends. I consider myself extremely fortunate to be living in the beautiful town of Haworth, in the heart of  Bronte country. There are plenty of places to stay, a great choice of restaurants, shops, pubs and historical places of interest in and around Haworth. There are also a number of great festivals including the 1940`s festival, KWVR Beer & Musical festival, Steampunk weekend and Haworth Christmas festival, the later covers the four weekends leading up to Christmas.

 

My travels soon extended to the whole of the beautiful counties of Yorkshire, Lancashire and beyond. I would very much like to share some of my traveling experiences with you and hopefully enrich your visit to this wonderful area.

I have not been able to make it to the end of all the destinations I have recommended, due to the difficulty and accessibility of the location. I have at least been to the start and in most cases further. In the cases where I have not made it to the end location I have relied on photos and reports from family and friends that have reached the goal.
